Topeka, KS

Topeka is along the Kansas River in the central part of Shawnee County.
The city is well known for the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka.
In addition to the Kansas River, several tributaries flow through the city. Topeka is near a valley and borders prairie uplands up to 300 feet. 61 square miles.
Average high and low: 90 degrees in July; 39 degrees in January. Average precipitation per year: 37 inches of rain; 15 inches of snow.
