Building on the success of two years of sold out events, we are delighted to invite you to join us as a sponsor for the third annual Outdoor Afro Glamp Out Gala at the Oakland Museum of California!

This magical event brings together over 250 of the nation’s most inspiring leaders, elected officials, celebrities, and diverse outdoor and cultural champions in a glamorous celebration to uplift our love of nature and community!

YOUR SPONSORSHIP MATTERS

Because of your support last year, Outdoor Afro hosted its national leadership training summit on the east coast with over 70 aspiring leaders and our partners from nearly 30 states.

OALT17 Leadership

“This was the most powerful training I’ve attended. I learned so many strategies to be a more accountable and effective leader. I learned about the culture of OA and got to know so many leaders. I’ve already started incorporating ideas that have been successful in other networks.”

With Outdoor Afro’s leadership team size quadrupling from its beginnings, we now host hundreds more innovative outdoor activities for thousands of youth and their families all around the country, with an emphasis on connecting people to our parks, public lands, and national monuments.

We also expanded operations and opened a Washington, DC office in response to the rapid growth and interest in our work on the East Coast.

OUR BIG GOALS FOR 2018:

  • Expand the reach of our national #HealingHike campaign to touch 10,000 more people through therapeutic hikes, as we increasingly feel the need to turn to nature to find community healing and solace in response to pressing social concerns.
  • Send a team of leaders to Tanzania for a Mount Kilimanjaro expedition in June of 2018, inspiring global care for the planet.
  • Expand our annual “Blackpacking” program to include bicycle and kayaking trips that retrace the 1896 route of the 25th Infantry African American Bicycle Corps and Harriet Tubman’s 1863 Combahee River Slave Liberation.
