Eve -- I am so glad your community did it up too! So glad you all did what you could for those 9 kids. You created memories for them they will never forget!

Main street here in Grapevine had a festival yesterday for all the kids.

Back on my block tonight I had only 9 kids. 5 of them live on my block and the others were being driven by a parent.

My child is 21 and long since gone and going to patirs on his own, but I still enjoy providing for the few that make the rounds in my neighborhood.

You can feed a small country on what our entire block spends on Christmas decorations, but only one family decorates for Halloween(no it's not me).

I am all for the community or church parties and am proud that my city did it up big time for the kids last night!!!!!

Great topic Outdoor Afro!!!

Great post! So very true. I admit to being one who hurries in and dims the lights... the sad part is that its often AFTER TRICK OR TREATING. But, not this year. Nope. We will hot the streets of the neighborhood, and when we are all done, little Miss J will have a big bowl of treats awaiting trick or treaters still harvesting. I am looking forward to going door to door, running into friends and admiring all of the wonderful creative bodies. The beauty of our neighborhood is that kids ALWAYS are free to be kids and partake in childhood, uninterrupted.

Happy Halloween.
